Justis R. Gibbs II

Justis Gibbs is an Associate at Gibbs Travis PLLC in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Legal Communications. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. At graduation, Justis was the recipient of the 2021 Dean’s Distinguished Service Award for his commitment to the Law School.

Justis is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and licensed to practice in all Courts in the State of Mississippi.

During Law School, Justis was extensively involved at The University of Mississippi School of Law. Justis was a member of the Negotiation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, Dean’s Leadership Council, and a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Also, he became part of the George C. Cochran Innocence Project where he assisted with cases involving Mississippi state prisoners serving significant periods of incarceration who had cognizable claims of wrongful conviction.

While attending Howard University, Justis was a CBCF Panelist for the White House Initiative for Excellence for Americans, recipient of the Sigma Phi Pi Grand Boulè Scholarship, Brother of Fall 2015 Howard University Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, recipient of Beta Delta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Sorority Scholarship, he won First Place in the Mississippi Ann Owen Gordon Oratorical Competition and a recipient of LeFleur’s Bluff Chapter of the Links, Incorporated Scholarship. Justis also was Program Director of Howard University’s United Political Action Committee, Executive Vice President of The College of Arts & Sciences Student Council, and a member Howard University Student Association Transportation Committee.

Justis plans to focus his practice on mass tort litigation, business litigation, product liability, white collar criminal defense and contract law. Justis believes that all individuals within the State of Mississippi shall have an ability to retain quality counsel. Justis plans to continue his efforts to provide legal services of the highest standard in the pursuit of justice.

Justis is a member of the Free Mission Baptist Church. He comes from a family of dedicated attorneys, being the son of Robert L. and Debra Hendricks-Gibbs and brother of Ariana N. Gibbs.
