Tommy Brown is an Associate at Gibbs Travis PLLC. His practice focuses on complex civil litigation and family law matters.
A graduate of Mississippi College School of Law, Tommy has spent much time practicing as guardian ad litem protecting the interest of children in the State of Mississippi. Tommy has also worked with institutions such as Child Protective Services and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office to lead Mississippi's efforts in keeping children and youth safe and thriving by strengthening families; preventing child abuse, neglect, exploitation; promoting child and family well-being and permanent family connections.
Prior to joining the firm, Tommy acted as an Administrative Law Judge for the Mississippi Department of Human Services where he conducted hearings to recommend dismissal or make decisions on claims concerning government programs such as SNAP and TANF benefits, subgrants to varying governmental agencies and much more. His primary responsibilities included determining liability, sanctions, penalties, along with recommending the acceptance or rejection of claims. Furthermore, he was tasked with insuring that the due process rights of all persons were met and preparing written opinions and decisions for inhouse and public viewing.
At all times in life and while practicing Tommy utilizes a set of guiding principles. He believes that it is important to act as a trustee and servant of his clients. He strives to be accessible and responsive to them and will foster confidence in crucial circumstances.
Most importantly, Tommy believes that his success in judicial proceedings and hearings will not be gauged simply by wins or losses. He will have well and faithfully discharged his duties when all parties have been treated fairly and when the outcome is consistent with the highest standards of justice. Justice is his chief goal.
