Prestigious Associates Join GibbsWhitwell PLLC

Two of Jackson's most active and respected lawyers have joined forces with Robert L. Gibbs and Quentin Whitwell at their firm, GibbsWhitwell, PLLC in Jackson, MS.

Dellwyn Smith

Dellwyn Smith, a native of Jackson, MS, will focus her practice in the areas of domestic relations and wills & estates. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from Tougaloo College, a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi College School of Business, and a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law, where she served as a Guardian Ad Litem and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Law. Dellwyn is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, Magnolia Bar Association and the Capital Area Bar Association, where she serves as chair of the Women and Children Advocacy Committee. She was the 2010 recipient of the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project Pro Bono Service Award.

Vikki J. Taylor

Vikki Taylor brings a unique skill set and perspective to the practice of law with almost twenty years of service to the community. In addition to her comprehensive background involving the entire spectrum of employment related laws, she provides day-to-day advice, training and counseling to her clients on a wide variety of employment issues, such as making reasonable accommodations, handling leaves of absence issues, disciplining and terminating employees, drug and alcohol testing and investigating claims of harassment. Her knowledge and trial experience spans commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, premises liability, lender liability, product liability, multiple-party litigation, governmental liability, school law, discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, workplace torts and contract disputes. Vikki has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the Mid-South edition of Super Lawyers.  She is a cum laude graduate of Mississippi University for Women and graduated second in her class at University of Mississippi School of Law. Among her numerous honors and community service activities, she serves as Director of a global alliance of business law firms consisting of 172 law firms with more than 6,500 lawyers in sixty countries, is Commissioner of the Mississippi Bar Association (2006-2009), served on the Board of Directors for Mississippi Legal Services Foundation, and the Ethics Advisory Board Jackson Heart Study.

Both attorneys joined GibbsWhitwell during October 2011.
